Teen Martial Arts in Santa Clara: Strength With Purpose

Disciplined martial arts training at KIMOO Martial Arts in Santa Clara

Thirteen to seventeen are the years that set the pattern. Confidence or the lack of it. Discipline or drift. How they handle being bad at something before they are good at it.

A martial arts dojang is one of the very few environments where a teenager is judged purely on effort, where progress is visible, and where respect is non-negotiable in both directions.

What the teens program builds

  • Genuine fitness — strength, flexibility and conditioning, without a gym's self-consciousness.
  • Self-defence that works, including the awareness and de-escalation that matter most.
  • Confidence that is earned. A belt cannot be bought or talked into existence.
  • Focus that shows up in schoolwork. The most common feedback we get from parents.

A screen-free hour that teenagers actually want

Most teenagers are not short of activities — they are short of ones that hold attention without a screen. Martial arts does, because every session is measurably different from the last.

Teenagers who would not consider a gym will happily train here, because they are learning something rather than performing for anyone.

Taught by a Grand Master, not a part-timer

Grand Master Jong Yeon Hwang trained at the Korea Hapkido Headquarters Dojang in 1971, holds 8th Dan, won gold at the 2005 Wushu World Cup in Milan, and trained soldiers of the 728th Military Police Battalion.

Teenagers respond to real authority. This is the real thing, and they know the difference.

Competition, if they want it

Teens who show the appetite can be invited into our competition program and prepared by a World Cup gold medalist. For some students that pathway becomes the thing that organises their entire adolescence.

Free first class, free uniform

No contract, no equipment, no pressure. The first class is free, and the uniform and belt are free when they join.

Call (408) 243-1001. We train teens from Santa Clara, Sunnyvale, San Jose, Cupertino and Campbell.

Train where the standard is real

Great training is not about a flashy facility. It is about who corrects you, how closely they watch, and whether the standard they hold is a real one. At KIMOO you are corrected personally by an 8th Dan Grand Master who trained at the source of the art in 1971 — not by a rotating roster of part-time instructors.

Classes run throughout the week so students can train around school and work schedules. Call (408) 243-1001 and we will find the times that suit you and confirm your free class within one day.
