Taekwondo is a native Korean Martial Art. Usually translated as a “Way of the foot and fist”, it is most visibly recognized by dynamic kicks, high-speed strikes, and exciting sparring matches.
Although manifested in uniquely different ways, many of the principles and techniques of taekwondo are also seen in other martial arts such as karate, mui-thai, and kickboxing. Tae Kwon Do is also the national sport of Korea and is one of few martial arts recognized as an Olympic sport.
